We originally hoped to include 2500 patients in PAIS.
Although many investigators and collaborators have contributed to the trial as
best as they could. this aim proved to be a little too much.
We have settled for 1500. As of august 2007, we included 1230 patients.
We will be able to include patients until March 2008. By that time, more than
1500 patients will have been included. This makes PAIS by far the largest
acute ischemic stroke trial conducted in the Netherlands alone.
We thank all investigators (and patients!) for their contribution until now,
and we urge everyone to make an effort these coming seven months to include as
many patients as possible, in order to reacht the goal of 1500 patients.
